STATEMENT OF MISSION
We believe God calls us to share the good news of Jesus Christ. To be a faithful, growing church and strengthen congregational life for this mission, we work toward Christian unity, share Christ’s redeeming love that the human family might be made whole, welcome all people for worship and fellowship, and minister to the needs of others by sharing and caring.
A NEW VIEW
FROM THE BRIDGE
With all the flooding around our area, I can’t help but wonder what can I do; what can we do? I sat in on the Chi Rho Sunday school class two weeks ago and they talked about wanting to do a mission trip so…what could they do? I would welcome any thoughts you might have. Jesus came not to be served but to serve. We have talked the last few weeks about our calling as a disciple. How can we serve the communities around us?
A pastor once asked, “If your church suddenly did not exist in the community would it be missed?” I do not believe that a church concerned only with itself can truly represent the body of Christ in the world. This congregation does a lot to serve Christ’s world but can we do more? I’m not sure the question should be “Would we be missed”? I believe the appropriate question should be “Would we miss our community?” Let us find a way to help those in need in the surrounding communities.
Stop by the church and let me know your ideas and thoughts. Can we do anything? I would be willing to take a few days to roll up my sleeves and “get dirty for Jesus”. Would anyone like to join me?
Shalom,
Sondra
News from the blews
Hello Everyone at RBCC,
Ritch and I are doing fantastic. This is an “awesome” place. We’ve met people from all over the world. Our jobs are a lot of work but very worthwhile. We both work on Sundays, but there’s a hymn sing every Sunday night at the chapel. We are also in a Bible study group with other senior staff members.
God is EVERYWHERE out here!
Love Ya,
Ritch & Sue
THANK YOU
Thanks to Joyce Briggs, Shirley Snell, Richard Thurman, Marilyn & Richard Houston, Turner & Wanda Shipman, and Herb & Sandy Bridges for their hard work in the garden this Spring.

Now that our new pastor is in place, we are going to finish compiling all the information for the directory for print. We plan to get this done in the next couple of weeks so, this will be your last chance to make any changes to your listing. To do so, please contact the office.
My apologies. I inadvertently listed the August Anniversaries in the last Bridge as July.
For those who like to send cards to remember those anniversaries, please disregard. For you husbands – gave you a month warning so you won’t forget!!!
These anniversaries will be printed in the last Bridge in July correctly under the August listing.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Did you know?
It’s not your imagination – giving does make you feel better. Recent research at the National Institute of Neurology has found certain areas of the brain are activated, stimulating the release of dopamine. This causes pleasurable or euphoric sensations. this allows us to feel joy, when we do good things.
The national & local charities are hard pressed to help all the people affected by recent flooding. Let’s do what we can to help.
Please bring cleaning supplies to church – July 13th & July 20th. Flood victims need our support.
God works in mysterious ways. I feel joyful already!!
